Summerside Rotarians gather for "End Polio Now" Live Stream at Red ShoresImage

Last Friday evening, October 24, close to 50 Summerside Rotarians and their guests gathered at Red Shores Casino for the "End Polio Now" live stream event. It was organized through the efforts of President Thane Smallwood and Club Service chair Belinda Woods. The successful and entertaining evening was hosted by International Service chair Wayne Thompson, with special guest, Dave Anderson, lending his exceptional talents to the 'Pumpkin Auction."

Rotarian Cathy Gallant and her husband Bill Gallant graciously lent their time and amazing pumpkin carving skills to the cause, carving 6 pumpkins for the auction. At the end of the night, the total money raised (encouraged by an exacting and formidable auctioneer!) was just over $1000 dollars. All money raised will be donated to the "End Polio Now" campaign. "We are this close!"

Summerside Rotarians also used the evening of fellowship as an opportunity to say farewell to long time member, Ted Cross and his wife Rosalind, who are moving back home to Corner Brook. What is Summerside Rotary's loss is certainly Corner Brook's gain! We wish Ted and Rosalind a fond farewell!
